The following is the story of one man’s journey.

He failed in business at the age of twenty‑two, and failed again in business at twenty‑four.

He was devastated by the death of a sweetheart when he was twenty‑six, and subsequently had a nervous breakdown when he was twenty‑seven.

At thirty‑four, he lost a congressional race, and lost it again two years later.

He lost a senatorial race at the age of forty‑five.

After another two years, he failed in an effort to become vice president. He then went on to lose another senatorial race at the age of forty‑nine.

Finally, at the age of fifty‑two, Abraham Lincoln became the sixteenth president of the United States.

Do you think it’s possible that perseverance has something to do with success?
